I started Whitney Rain Studio as a way to bring more beauty and joy into everyday life. Each piece begins as a blank sheet of paper and an idea, and is painted by me with watercolor. From there, every detail is considered and each product made intentionally, with many being made right here in my small Tennessee studio.
I began painting in 2015 after stepping away from a career as an engineer. I’m forever inspired by the outdoors after growing up in the Canadian Rockies and now living amongst the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. The way nature embodies peace, as well as embraces unique and imperfect beauty, informs my work in every way.
Creativity has given me the opportunity to find purpose and fulfillment in my work while also allowing me the flexibility to be a present mom. My hope is always that the happiness I feel while painting shows through in my artwork and makes the life of each recipient just a little brighter.
